Maritime Access, Antea Group and Kunigi organize a workshop on March 16th 2018 about the DEMCA PCP project.
This workshop is a first of 3 DEMCA PCP info-moments, on the Pre-commercial-procurement process of DEMCA: Innovation in Digital Elevation Models in (flat) Coastal Areas.
Digital Elevation Models (DEMs) give a representation of the elevation of the earth’s surface, used in a wide range of applications, i.e. nautical charts, dredging operations, morphological analysis, habitat mapping and numerical modelling. In coastal areas, where land and water meet, there is an urgent need for innovation in DEMs, resulting in a straight-forward, cost-effective elevation measurement method allowin:
- High sampling frequency;
- Integration of nearshore bathymetry data and onshore elevation values;
- High quality data validation, processing and storage and integration with existing databases.
Pre-commercial procurement (PCP) outbraves the industry from the demand side to develop innovative solutions for public sector needs, providing a first customer reference that enables companies to create competitive advantage on the market. This specific DEMCA PCP is organized to find a solution to the above-mentioned challenges in DEMs and will be launched with a call for proposals by Maritime Access, Division of the Flemish Department of Mobility and Public Works in Spring 2018.
